Data: B2B by name first from Blue Sheep
Cheltenham business to business data intelligence specialist, Blue Sheep, has created an innovative new file which allows data to be selected on the basis of contact name first. This new approach turns the traditional selection process, which typically uses geographical location, SIC, size and then contacts, on its head.
The process allows all contacts from all merged files to be de-duplicated at contact level. Clients will be able to choose by contact name, such as Financial Director, Marketing Manager, etc., and then further refine the selection using the customer's chosen criteria.
John Wright, joint managing director, Blue Sheep, said: "Clients are often very clear about who they are looking to target so it's easier to start at the key contact level and work backwards to arrive at a satisfactory selection. With the new file structure we can now provide access to five million business locations and seven million contact names. This more then any other UK business file."
To create the new file, Blue Sheep has incorporated data from Thomson, Corpdata, Market Monitor, Companies House and its own Business Tracker database. Figures for contacts available within the file include: Senior Executives - over 1 million, Finance responsibility - 300,000, IT - 256,000, Sales & Marketing - 400,000, Engineering - 85,000, Education - 200,000 and Buyers 175,000.
The new file consolidates the company's position as the UK's leading provider of aggregated data. This has been achieved through the evolution of its market-leading aggregated B2B database, The UK Business Universe®, which now holds information on 5.6 million businesses - 3.7 million unique business locations - 3.0 million of which are located in England. The volume, depth and breadth of the new file allow Blue Sheep to deliver additional precise data selection and cleansing services.
Continuing investment in, and development of, Blue Sheep's core aggregated database has consolidated its focus and leading position in the B2B sector.
