Field Marketing: Toshiba outsouces second store to Gekko Partners
Toshiba has opened its second retail outlet Store at the McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Centre in Ashford. Gekko has been chosen for the second time to deliver in-store retail service for the store. This follows the success of Toshiba's first store which was opened in November 2005.
Gekko will take responsibility for recruitment, training and management of all sales staff, as well as in-store demonstrations and merchandising. As part of the arrangement Gekko will be accountable for sales targets, whilst Toshiba will be responsible for overall management and stock and sales levels.
The second store at Ashford Designer Outlet, Kent opened 15th December 2006 and is selling refurbished and discontinued products.
The original Toshiba store in Cheshire Oaks, Liverpool proved to be highly successful with sales greatly exceeding projected monthly targets. This reflected the quality of Gekko's staff and their ability to sell Toshiba products.
Daniel Todaro, Managing Director, Gekko Partners, comments: "Our work at the first Toshiba store broke new ground in field marketing and we are so pleased it was such a success. By taking complete responsibility for the retail environment we are really able to ensure that every aspect of the consumer's experience is consistent with the brand to drive sales. We will be doing the same in Ashford Designer Outlet and look forward to seeing the results of the new store."
Stephen Beresford, Senior Manager - Marketing Communications, Toshiba, adds: "I think the success of the Cheshire Oak store is a direct result of the Toshiba and Gekko relationship and experience of working together. Opening the second store in the South of England was a natural progression. Gekko really are a part of the team and they are integral to the future success of this store."
