Sheila's Wheels in spoof drive
Students from East Surrey College's Reigate School of Art, Design and Media will work with on a live advertising project for this spirited brand.
More than 200 students are getting involved in the project as part of Enterprise Week, which aims to motivate young people about business. Working to in small groups, they will have just weeks to film their own commercial using any media they choose, from live action to animation to finger puppets.
Entries will be judged by the brand team at Sheilas' Wheels and cult advertising hero Chris Wilkins. Chris was the copywriter of the iconic Smash Martians commercials in the 70s.
The winning team will receive a cash prize and the opportunity for their work to feature in an esure-backed viral marketing campaign to be launched on ‘YouTube' next year.
Adrian Webb, Head of Corporate Communications at esure is excited at the prospect of working with the students at East Surrey College. He says:
"We have created this project for two reasons. Firstly, because we believe there is a duty for companies to inspire and encourage young people to take up opportunities in business. Secondly, we think that the new world of mobile and internet video is most effective when produced by young people who have both raw talent and creative energy."
East Surrey College Principal, Frances Wadsworth added: "We are really pleased to have the opportunity to partner a successful local business so that our students can work on a real world, ambitious and cutting-edge project."
